The elevation sloped nearly six feet from the back of the house down to the rear fence, causing water to rush through the yard during storms. The pool deck was washing out, drainage was inadequate, and erosion threatened the home’s foundation and outdoor structures. A complete overhaul was the only solution.
Engineering a Reliable Drainage System
The first phase involved resolving the drainage problems. The team performed a full grade analysis to identify low points and determine how water naturally moved across the yard. From there, they installed underground drainage lines tied into a sump-pump system designed to carry stormwater safely to the front of the property.
Additional deck drains near the home were replaced to prevent water from flowing toward the foundation. Once the first storm hit after installation, the system performed flawlessly.
Building Multi-Level Outdoor Living Spaces
With the drainage system in place, the team rebuilt the entire yard using retaining walls to create four functional platforms:
